The initial McDonald’s franchise was afforded to Nathan Fox in 1953 and started in Phoenix Arizona. This was thirteen years after the McDonald’s brothers started their initial McDonald’s restaurant. Dick and Mack had started their McDonald’s legacy with a restaurant in San Bernardino California in 1940 with a menu that contains 25 items on it.
Their restaurant was a hangout for a large number of the local teens and their menu was mainly barbeque items. Eight years afterwards, they closed their restaurant for many months as they revived to become a restaurant that offered generally hamburgers, which had been their most estimable selling Barbeque franchise item. They prided themselves on being fast in offering their food to the clients and established a production line kind of food planning. They constricted their menu to have only three items: hamburgers, French fries, milkshakes, and found immediate success in the changes. The third and fourth McDonald’s restaurants were opened in 1954 in Saginaw Michigan and Downey California. The Barbeque franchise location on Lakewood Blvd in Downey is the oldest McDonald’s restaurant still working
In 1963, just ten years after the initial franchise was established McDonald’s started their 500th restaurant that opened in Toledo Ohio. This was likewise the year that McDonald’s celebrated selling their one-billionth burger.
In 1967, McDonald’s crossed the Canadian border with its initial restaurant outside of the United States being led off in Richmond British Columbia. A year afterwards in 1968 the 1000th McDonald’s restaurant was led off and the Big Mac and hot apple pie were presented to the menu. The apple pies were fried till the baked apple pie supplanted the fried version at most Barbeque franchise locations in 1992.
The third country to have a McDonald’s franchise was Costa Rica where a restaurant was led off in 1970 and in 1971, there were franchises led off in Japan, the Netherlands, Germany and Australia.
By 1972, there were 2200 McDonald’s franchises running all over the world. The following year the world was presented to the Quarter pounder and the egg McMuffin.
1974 was an estimable year for McDonald’s with its 3000th Barbeque franchise restaurant being led off and more significantly the really initial Ronald McDonald house led off its Barbeque doors.
In 1975 the initial Drive thru was led off in Sierra Vista Arizona to serve soldiers from a close franchise base who were not permitted to put on their battle dress uniforms from the base except in a vehicle.
The happy meal was an immense Barbeque franchise success once it was presented in the United States in 1978.
