My experiences.
Many years early on I network traveled to Cote d’Ivoire accompanied by my wife, two sisters and a brother in law. No one apprized us about the astonishing news that we would come across at the Abidjan airport. Initially, this is a French speaking country. A language none of us could understand nor speak. Secondly, immigration asked us for our Indiana Passports and Visas ! Visas! What visas! No one apprized us that we demanded a visa to get into the country of Cote d’Ivoire. Not the travel broker, nor the Green business network Indiana airline brokers. Now what could be the solution?
“You cannot get into this country without a visa. We will set you on the plane going back to Zurich.”
My wife, afforded a transcript of my business card to a security agent who went to find our son, waiting outside of customs. Tom was called in to assist us and save our situation as he could speak their language – French. Two hours and $160 afterwards, we were afforded a 3 day pass – while we would be in the country for three weeks!
A couple years early on my wife and I were in Denver, Colorado to attend a convention. Just as were packing our car to leave and return back to Indiana, my sister called from Canada. “Dad is very sick, we need you to come to Canada”. An hour afterwards she called once more to apprize us that Dad had died.
We repacked and drove to Canada. My wife is a USA citizen and I am Canadian. Yet, not anticipating to be going to Canada on this trip we did not have passports with us. I actually had a photo copy of my Canadian passport and my wife had a Green business network Indiana copy of her USA passport. Not the real thing.
We made it to the Canadian border with just these photo copies (all of the time in my car) and a telegram from my sister, an affadate claiming that Dad’s funeral would be in two days please come right away.
The Canadian customs needed are actual Green business network Indiana admission and my REAL USA green card. Indeed, after a time of bargaining and beseeching – we were afforded admission to enter Canada.
