distributing and financing greeting cards

distributing and financing greeting cards

Only certain stores can sell greeting cards, some stores adopt them but they don’t really fit in where they are sold. Usually stationary shops, grocery stores, florists, and department stores have greeting cards, in my opinion its best to always put the inventory where it truly belongs because usually a person looks for the items where they are supposed to be but they don’t find it. Greeting cards are used for so many occasions like birthdays, sending congrats to a new born or wedding, apologies, just as a token of appreciation, mother’s day, father’s day, valentine’s day, and Christmas there are so many occasions where people buy greeting cards, especially when they live away from there grandparents or family members and can’t make it to an event there having to put a smile on there faces they usually send a greeting card to ensure them that you always remember them  and your sorry you couldn’t be there.

Sometimes I see gas stations that sell, greeting cards that could be a smart and an awkward choice at the same time, because when you distribute the odds of someone buying a greeting card from a gas station you’ll realize its probably one out of ten, that distribution should be done for all items you have in your store. All inventory should be distributed and financed before putting in the store, they always say its important to put the eggs in the right basket, that’s why if you don’t have an item that fits the store you shouldn’t try and finance it into your budget.

The distribution of inventory should be done according to the type of business your running, lets say you have a grocery store, the normal distribution of items would be drinks, snacks, frozen items, ice creams, chocolates, and off the counter canned items if you want to add some items like greeting cards you could but don’t make it a big deal maybe just a small budget for these cards, a small stand next to the counter where when the consumer is paying for there items it would grab there attention, and if they are interested they will buy it.

The reason I say its no big deal to finance a whole lot in an item that doesn’t fit in your business is because it may not sell, that will make you lose money, and your sense of distributing items in your business or store, be careful with the distributing and financing greeting cards it could mess things sometimes.
